The Sendero Way
Sendero means “the path,” but this isn’t some glitter-covered, good-vibes only kind of path. This path is real, gritty, and effective. It winds through the stress of daily life, sleepless nights, tight shoulders, and overworked nervous systems. Yoga is how we walk the path - one breath, one stretch, one nervous-system reset at a time. There are definitely good vibes and nights full of the best sleep ever ahead, and Sender Yoga and Bodywork can support you in getting there.
I’m Carrie, and I came into yoga on a total whim. I had anger issues, a short fuse, and anxiety so raging I couldn’t sleep. I found tranquility on the yoga mat. I found rest through my breath. I found a better way of navigating life’s challenges by doing the work in yoga class. Finding literal and figurative balance wasn’t easy, but the relaxation eventually came and I knew if I could help others, it’s what I wanted to do. I know, cheesy, but it’s real. I dove into the research on yoga, the vagus nerve, neuroscience, and sleep, and developed a class format that helps people feel good, chill out, and sleep better.
I’m Yoga Alliance and Warriors at Ease certified with over 5000 hours of teaching yoga and meditation classes, especially for first responders, veterans, and military communities - all people who tend to live in high-stress and high-intensity environments. My approach is rooted in neuroscience, breathwork, and evidence-based practices to retrain the body and brains’s stress response system, creating a sense of resilience in the face of every day stressors and deep sleep instead of restless nights. I work will all bodies from power lifters to wheelchair users, from prosthetics-users to steel-supported spines. I specialize in adaptive yoga for anyone with a body they’re convinced isn’t a yoga body. Give me one hour to change your mind.

At Sendero Yoga and Bodywork, everything I do in a class comes back to nervous system regulation and recovery - not perfection or poses for social media. It’s yoga that meets you where you are, gives your body a place to exhale and release stress, and helps you build strength inside and out. No woo.
